General FAQ

Where do you offer your services?

We are proud to service the Greater Boston Area, stretching from the heart of the city west to Rt. 495.  We travel north to Andover and south to Brocton and Foxborough.  We also service along the coast from Scituate to Peabody.

Unsure if we service your area?  Please call our office at (617) 332-3344 or send us a message from our website!

I rent my space, are you able to provide me with Pest Control?

Unfortunately, we can only work with homeowners, landlords, and property managers to contract our services.  If you are interested in our services, please have your landlord or property manager contact our office at (617) 332-3344.

Are you able to provide quotes over the phone?

In most cases, we cannot provide accurate quotes over the phone for our services. Several of our services factor in situational components such as level of pest activity, estimated amount of materials, size of location being treated, etc. to ensure you get a fair quote for your circumstance.

We offer free inspections for most services so you can get an accurate quote from us for no financial commitment.

You mentioned most services include a free inspection. Which services are not included?

Inspections for Wood Destroying Insects (WDI Inspections), Webbing Clothing Moths, and Bedbugs are subject to inspection fees.  However, if you choose to move forward with the proposed services with us, that fee will be deducted from your final bill.

Inspection fees can vary, so please call our office at (617) 332-3344 for more information.

I am having an issue with Wildlife, are there species of Wildlife you do not service?

Our Wildlife specialists are equipped to aid our clients with Skunks, Raccoons, Red Squirrels, Grey Squirrels, Flying Squirrels, Woodchucks, Bats, Pigeons, and Sparrows.  We do not service issues regarding Rabbits, Snakes, Chipmunks, Moles, or Voles.

I am unsure what type of pest I am dealing with - is there anything I can do to help identify the pest?

It is difficult for our specialists to identify an issue over the phone.  If you are unsure what you are seeing, take a photo for us! As clear as possible and ideally with an object in the photo that can be used for our experts to judge the size of the pest (something with a standard size, such as a coin).  Call our office at (617) 332-3344 and they can assist you in getting the photo to our specialists.

I have an inspection booked, but I would like to get started on services as soon as possible. Can my inspector set up my service while he is here?

Unfortunately, our inspectors are not equipped with the materials to set up services.  Once a service has been agreed upon, our office will reach out to you about scheduling your treatment.

I have signed my contract for services, how do I proceed in getting my service scheduled?

Once a contract has been signed, your inspector will send detailed notes about the service to our office.  Our office staff will create your service profile and put together a potential schedule to begin service; they will reach out to you to discuss this schedule as soon as possible.

Perimeter Defense Program FAQ

Do I need to be home if I have a Perimeter Defense Program (PDP) scheduled at my home or managed property?

This treatment typically takes place entirely on the outside of the home; in most cases, you do not need to be home for this service. If an interior treatment is recommended, our staff will inform you and work with you to have the treatment done at a time that is convenient for you and our technician.

How long does it take for the treatment to take effect?

Results can be immediate, but often take a few days for full effect. It is common to see an  immediate uptick in activity before a steep decline – this is indication that active sites were targeted and the treatment is indeed working.

When should I call again for a retreatment if I am still seeing activity?

Please allow 5-10 days for treatments to take full effect. If after 2 weeks you still note activity inside, please give us a call at (617) 332-3344 to schedule a follow up. You may still notice activity outside, but this is ok, so long as unwanted guests are not entering your home.

Is this treatment safe for children and pets that play outside?

Of Course! Insecticides are applied directly to foundations and left to dry. Once materials are dry, everything is completely safe for children and pets. Drying times vary depending on environmental conditions, but on dry summer days it can be as quick as half an hour, and in cooler fall weather, it can take up to four hours before it is completely dry.

Is this treatment just for ants?

No – while Perimeter Defense Systems are most commonly deployed to control Carpenter and Pavement Ants, they actually control all kinds of crawling insects that occasionally enter our homes from the outside

Does this treatment come with a guarantee?

Yes, our Perimeter Defence Program comes with a 6 month guarantee.  This guarantee will typically cover you through the main Massachusetts insect season.

Wildlife Trapping Program FAQ

I am having an issue with Wildlife, are there species of Wildlife you do not service?

Our Wildlife specialists are equipped to aid our clients with Skunks, Raccoons, Red Squirrels, Grey Squirrels, Flying Squirrels, Woodchucks, Bats, Pigeons, and Sparrows.  We do not service issues in regards to Rabbits, Snakes, Chipmunks, Moles, or Voles.

Traps are set up at my house, but they have not caught anything, what do we do?

Trapping programs are set up for 5 consecutive days of trapping, but there is no guarantee that we can convince a wild animal to enter a cage. If after 4 days nothing is caught your Technician will notify our Service Manager to make sure that everything has been set properly. In most cases we will close the program on day 5, seal entry points, and the program is complete.

If we need to extend the program for a day or two beyond that, it will be at our discretion. Additional charges may apply.

Traps are set up at my house and they are catching animals every day. Do we still close the traps on day 5?

In many cases we will add a day or two of trapping to your service – but beyond that, additional charges may apply.

Why do you need to close my traps before the weekend – can I check them and let you know if anything is caught?

While we always appreciate your partnership, all traps, interior and exterior, need to be closed for the weekend. State laws require that a trap is checked by a licensed Problem Animal Control technician every 24 hours.  Traps will all be reopened and reset as soon as possible, usually the next business day.

Stinging Insect Control FAQ

What types of Stinging Insects are you able to treat?

We offer services handling wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, and digger bees.  We are unfortunately unable to help with any situations involving  Honey Bees; you will need a licensed Beekeeper to help you in these cases.  Please see the Massachusetts Beekeepers Association for your county to find a licensed Beekeeper.

I see stinging insects flying all around my yard - can you come treat them?

In order for our treatment to be successful, we need to know the source (nest) where they are coming from.  Sources can include hanging nests, holes in the ground, or even holes in the side of your building.  Once the source is identified and located, we can send a technician to treat it.

How long does it take for your treatment to be successful?

The nest should become inactive within 24-48 hours.  If you are still seeing activity from the same nest after this time frame, please call our office at (617) 332-3344 to schedule a followup treatment.

Does your Stinging Insect Control service come with any guarantee?

This service comes with a 30 day guarantee at the site of treatment.  If a nest continues to be active or has been rebuilt at the site of treatment within 30 days, you will be covered for a followup treatment. If a new nest appears on a different spot on your property, this is considered a new issue and will be priced accordingly.

I have a nest high up in a tree, can you reach it for me?

We are unable to access and treat nests over 32 feet high.
